Reading Makes $ense

Crickets chirping at night. 100 degree temperatures during the day. There’s no doubt that kids all across Oklahoma have settled into their break from school for the summer. While summer typically means “free days” with no responsibilities of homework, science projects or spelling words, it’s certain that children get bored quickly. The Oklahoma College 529 Savings Plan (OCSP) is here to change that!

Oklahoma College Savings Plan is giving any child under the age of 18 the opportunity to win $2,259 toward a 529 Savings Plan. Awesome, right? Here’s how it works, visit a local library and join the Oklahoma Department of Library’s Summer Reading Program. While you’re there, fill out an entry form for the Reading Makes $ense Sweepstakes. On August 26, one child and one teen from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries Summer Reading Program will be chosen, at random, to win.

As if that wasn’t enough, OCSP is giving the library who hosted the winners $1,000 each to help fund programs. It’s a win-win!

The Reading Makes $ense Sweepstakes is open now through August 15 at participating libraries in the state. Entry forms for the OCSP Reading Makes $ense Sweepstakes can be filled out, returned to the library of your choice, or returned by mail. The sweepstakes is open to all parents, grandparents and guardians of children that are participating in the 2013 Oklahoma Department of Library Summer Reading Program. Children being entered into the sweepstakes must be under 18. Please visit www.ok4saving.org for more official rules, information or to register online.
