Nurturing First Relationships: Because What Happens Early Matters for a Lifetime

Now more than ever before, research provides evidence which identifies the impact of early experiences on lifelong health and development. Nurturing relationships in infancy and early childhood provide the foundation for young children to grow and develop their full potential; yet, many young children in Oklahoma are experiencing stress and trauma resulting from disruptions in their primary caregiving relationships due to issues such as substance abuse, mental illness, violence and separation/loss.  One does not have to have attended previous trainings to go to any in the series.

This 3 part training series will be conducted in the following 5 counties:

  • Oklahoma
  • Comanche
  • Muskogee
  • Kay
  • Garfield
This training series is designed for those caring for and providing services to vulnerable infants and young children to help them better meet their mental health and developmental needs and support resilience through relationships and everyday experiences. The training is appropriate for Bridge Resource Families and providers from early care and education, child welfare, early intervention, mental health and home visitation.
These trainings are made possible through a grant from Smart Start Oklahoma. To register for these trainings and for more information, click here
